Component 2
Component 2 is all about developing your skills. We will develop our designing and editing skills using Photoshop and experiment with different outcomes. We will also use cameras to take photographs for editing and add to your designs. The final work for assessment will be produced in a 10 hour window, this will happen in normal lessons.

Magazine Front Cover analysis
Comparing Two Music Magazines (Pop vs Classical)
This task can be completed on the PPT you started last lesson OR on a new Word document. Make sure you save your file at the end of the lesson.
You will compare two different music magazines. One is aimed at a pop music audience and one is aimed at a classical music audience.
Answer the questions below to explain how they are different and how they target different audiences.

We need to set up our front cover and double-page spread. This will be your final piece for this component.

TASK - The Basics of Photoshop (LA A - Developing Skills)
Your task is to understand the basics of photoshop.
Open a new explorer window and find your documents.
Create a new folder called "Media C2" This is where you will save all of your work, especially PDS - Photoshop files.
CLICK HERE to take you to a shared folder. Download the two files and save them in your new Media C2 folder.
Go to the windows icon bottom left and look for Adobe Photoshop, click on the 64GB one and the application will open.

Photoshop Workshop - Editing Photographs (LA A - Developing Skills)
This task is all about how to use photoshop to edit existing photographs.
You will use the following tools and skills:

Importing other images.

Changing the nature of individual layers (multiply and overlay)

Adjusting the Hue and Saturation (Image/adjustments/Hue and Saturation)

Adding Layer Masks (using the brush tool with black or white to remove or add)
