The Rationale

Understanding the client/commission (press release)

 

Aspects that will have an impact on the ideas produced and their suitability for securing the commission:

 

  • The purpose of the commission (introduction)

  • Ethos and reputation of the client  (show you understand the client by explaining how important they are with what they want to achieve)

  • Themes or subjects they wish to explore (Clarify the client's intentions, what they want to happen)

  • The message they want to communicate

  • Who or what they are targeting (impact).

In your introduction, write about the purpose and your understanding of the client brief:

 

  • What are they (the client) trying to achieve?

  • What message are they trying to put across/ communicate?

  • Why is this important to the UK?

  • What would the impact be for the Target Audience?

Use of research and background material (Press release and Infographic sheet)

  • Information about the target audience (identity by narrowing down the information to a particular Audience)

  • Data analysis from charts and tables of information (analysis of the information you have been given)

  • Appropriateness of response for the target audience (what platform are you going to choose - Audio/website/leaflet/moving image)

  • Consideration of product and platform to audience. (write about how you are going to get the product to the audience)
     

Write about the information/data/statistics they have provided for you:

 

  • What is the information telling you? (describe the data and what it implies, describe and explain)

  • Write about how you have been able to identify a Target Audience using this information.

  • Identify which platform would suit the audience, explain why.
